![]() This is Planet Palafox Pier, an image I've been holding onto until I could enter it into this year's POP show. It was worth the wait. This image won first prize in the Open/Art/Abstract category, and got a premium prize from Pensacola Photo Supply. I'm pretty happy about that. I got 7 other images into this juried competition, but none of them won anything. If you'd like to learn the technique I used to create this photo, go here. I should warn, you need to have a hardy processor to handle this technique. I made this particular image with about 20 separate exposures in a complete 360 degree panorama while standing in the middle of Plaza De Luna at the foot of Palafox Street in Pensacola. I had to reduce the size of the images by about a half before my computer could handle them. If you'd like to see this print, and a bunch of other good photography, head down to the Wright Place for the POP show during the rest of this weekend. I'll be there Sunday if you'd like to chat. Update 04/12/08: The Pensacola Independent News bought this image to use on the cover of its Earth Day Issue this week. | |
